CoeLux emerged as a spin-off from the Università degli Studi dell’Insubria, leveraging cutting-edge research to create groundbreaking lighting technology that replicates natural sunlight and sky indoors. Founded by Professor Paolo di Trapani, CoeLux is rooted in scientific innovation, combining advanced nanotechnology and optical systems to transform indoor spaces.
In 2001, a team of physicists at the University of Insubria began researching atmospheric phenomena using lasers and nanoparticles. This pioneering work, supported by university-led fundraising and international research projects, laid the foundation for CoeLux's technology. The University of Insubria funded the first prototypes, leading to a breakthrough in 2014 when CoeLux was presented and received immediate market approval.
This collaboration has earned CoeLux global recognition and numerous prestigious awards. From there, CoeLux evolved into a start-up, continually refining its structure and advancing its revolutionary lighting technology.
From 2009, CoeLux is head quartered in ComoNExT Technology Park.
